The Oyo State Government has sealed a collapsed building under construction belonging to a popular restaurant located in Dugbe area of Ibadan.
Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Williams Akin-Funmilayo, who spoke with journalists after an on-the-spot assessment of the collapsed building, said the action was to ensure safety of lives and property.
He added that sealing the collapsed building would also allow the government to assess the situation and come up with an adequate report on the cause of the incident.
The commissioner noted that some of the building materials used in the construction of the collapsed building appeared to be sub-standard and of low quality.

He declared that an integrity test would be carried out on the collapsed building and on other branches of the restaurant in the state to avoid a recurrence.
Akin-Funmilayo stated that the outcome of the test would determine the next action of the government
Earlier on Monday, the building collapsed at Dugbe prompting the government to seal it.
The commissioner who revealed that no life.was lost also said that government will carry out integrity test on all the Properties of the popular eatery as the engineer who constructed the collapsed building handled all other properties across the state
