The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 62-year-old woman in Ido, Ibadan.
The victim’s body was found with a deep cut on her neck, and preliminary findings suggest it had been there for at least 7 days.
Police have sealed the scene, and forensic experts are gathering evidence.
The suspects, Muhammed Sanusi and Ogbu James Ajah, both residents of the community are in custody, assisting with investigations.
The police said the situation is under control as residents had earlier protested the gruesome killing but with joint patrols and police deployments maintaining public order.
The PPRO, Oyo state police command Alayande Olayinka confirmed the incident and said the body has been evacuated to Morgue in Adeoyo General hospital while the state CID had taken over investigation.
