The Kwara State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Sunday Adewole, has urged Christians to embrace righteousness, unity, and renewed faith as they mark Palm Sunday, while calling on Nigerians and the political class to work collectively to overcome insecurity in the country.

Speaking during the annual Palm Sunday procession in Ilorin, the state capital, Adewole described the occasion as a time for celebration and reflection, stressing that national unity remains key to defeating insurgency.

He called on political leaders to demonstrate humility and prioritize the welfare of citizens.

Bishop Adewole and other CAN leaders emphasized the need for collective responsibility in sustaining peace and tackling insecurity, urging Christians to live as ambassadors of love, unity, and Christ-like values.

In his remarks, the oldest CAN member, Pa Olusola Ajolore, expressed concern over the Nigerian constitution, noting that meaningful change may remain elusive until Nigerians produce a truly representative document.
