Some parents in Edo state have expressed displeasure and frustration over the state government’s decision to delay resumption of both private and public schools in the state.
The state government had announced through a press release on Friday that the postponement was as a result of the tension arising from the recent increase in fuel prices and challenges on parents.
It is no longer news that the fuel price hike has affected every aspect of the economy including family life.
Many parents and business owners have been trying to manage the situation that has caused high cost of food items and transportation which has also triggered the recent announcement by government to postpone indefinitely resumption of schools initially set for 9th of September in the state.

The parents are however not happy with the postponement of resumption which they say will take a toll on them having prepared for it for over a month.
Some private school owners appear to be overwhelmed by the present economic situation in the country as they claimed to be most affected by the postponement of schools which will not only push the academic calendar further but also affect the cost of running their schools.
The education ministry is however reassuring parents and guardians that a new date for the resumption would be communicated soon
