The on-the-street parking scheme, popularly known as the Park and Pay Policy by federal capital territory administration, has been re-introduced with effect from the 1st of May 2021.
Addressing Newsmen in abuja on Tuesday, The Acting Secretary of the transportation Secretariat, Yahaya Usman, said that the policy was suspended by the federal high Court in 2014, due to lack of legal backing, but added that the administration has come up with enabling laws to drive the policy.
The Administration explained that, the concerns raised by the public including the high handedness of its officials, double taxation and the unprofessional conduct, have been addressed in the new FCT Parking regulations 2019.
