The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has suspended Article 37 of its constitution ahead of its forthcoming national convention.
The decision was taken on Friday following a motion raised and adopted during a meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
Article 37 of the NNPP constitution outlines the composition and functions of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT).
Party sources say the suspension is aimed at addressing internal party arrangements in preparation for the national convention.

Although details of the suspension were not fully disclosed, party officials described the move as a strategic step to ensure a smooth and unified convention process.
The NNPP is expected to provide further clarification on the implications of the decision in the coming days.
