The Presidential CNG Initiative (PCNGI) has raised the alarm about a deliberate plan by one of its suspended conversion centre partners, C & L Smart Energy Limited, to blackmail it and undermine the successes recorded in the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) programme.
According to PCNGI, C & L Smart Energy Limited, owned by Charles Goriola Yakub, was suspended from the Conversion Incentive Program in December 2024 due to alleged sharp practices, including selling government kits meant for free installation to commercial operators at prices ranging from N200,000 to N1.2 million.
The PCNGI stated that its investigation, backed by video evidence and documentation, was extensive, and several operators who fell victim to the alleged sharp practices came forward, some with damaged vehicles. The case has been referred to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for further investigation.

The PCNGI emphasized that it takes the integrity of the program seriously and remains focused on its mission to deliver clean, cheap, and reliable transportation powered by CNG and electric vehicles for all Nigerians.
The organization warned that it would take legal action against the suspended partner for electronic blackmail and cyberbullying.
The PCNGI assured Nigerians of its commitment to delivering on its mandate, despite attempts to undermine its efforts.
