About 5 days after the Ondo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal affirmed the victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the November 16,2024 poll, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Agboola Ajayi have expressed disappointment over the judgement.

In a statement issued by the former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Ajayi say that a thorough review of the Tribunal’s judgment delivered on June 4, 2025 has shown glaring inconsistencies in the treatment of critical evidence and exhibits tendered during the proceedings.

Agboola therefore vowed to challenge the judgment at the Court of Appeal.

He emphasized that while the ruling may have favored the All Progressives Congress (APC), the PDP remains firmly committed to pursuing justice through all constitutional means available

The statement said the PDP’s decision to appeal the judgement, underscores its commitment to the democratic process, rule of law, and the integrity of Nigeria’s electoral system, even as the nation prepares to mark Democracy Day on June 12.
