The main opposition party in Kwara State, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the current administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have continued to disagree over the alleged Misappropriation of the sum of four hundred and fifty billion naira foreign and local revenues accrued to the State as revenues and allocation between 2019 and 2022.

While the Kwara State PDP Chairman, Babatunde Muhammed alleges that the APC government in the State has mismanaged the said huge revenues, the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye debunks the claims

The main opposition party in Kwara State, the People’s Democratic Party has remained quiet for a while until this moment when it inaugurated five newly appointed members of the State working Committee to fill the vacuum created by former Excos who voluntarily resigned some months ago.

The party Chairman, Babatunde Mohammed used the occasion to challenge the State government under the leadership of Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to account for the sum of four hundred and fifty billion naira foreign and local revenues that accrued to the State as revenues and allocation between 2019 and 2022 while the Chief Press Secretary to the State governor, Rafiu Ajakaye debunked the allegations, saying the claims are baseless having declared three conflicting figures earlier.

The People’s Democratic Party in the State also said it was disappointed over the debt profile of the state of about 110 billion Naira as at September 2022 while the APC maintained that the current figures stand at over 67 billion Naira.

While the two Parties continue to disagree over the allocations, residents of the State are closely monitoring and comparing the past and current administrations to ascertain if the state is making progress or not.
