The National Working Committee of the opposition People s Democratic Party, PDP had cancelled the conduct of three new primaries that it directed should be held on Saturday.
These are the primaries for Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Enugu West Senatorial District as well as Boki-Ikom Federal Constituency and Yakuur II State Constituency, both of Cross River State.

The National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba has called on party members in the affected constituencies to take note and take it in good faith.
In his statement, the party spokesperson however said “after very careful deliberations on the reports of the Electoral and Appeal Panels on the Congresses of our Party in Lagos, Imo, Benue and Katsina States, the National Working Committee (NWC) has approved repeat primaries in the following Federal and State Constituencies for the purpose of nominating our Candidates for the 2023 general elections”.
The affected constituencies that will hold their primaries on Sunday are Ahiazu and Orsu State Constituencies of Imo State; Musawa, Zango and Dandume State Constituencies of Katsina State; Oru East-Orsu-Orlu and Kwande-Ushongo Federal Constituencies of Imo and Benue States.
Meanwhile, there will also be primaries on Monday to nominate candidates in 24 Federal Constituencies of Lagos State in South-West Nigeria
