The tour of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the one hundred and ninety two wards in Edo State has been concluded.

It is coming after five weeks of rigorous campaigns to the interior areas of the State.

The ward to ward campaign for the re-election of Governor Godwin Obaseki commenced with a visit by the State Campaign Council, led by the Chairman, Dan Orbih to the sixty four wards of Edo North Senatorial District.

The people thronged out in large numbers to receive the party’s standard bearer, Governor Obaseki and his running mate, Philip Shaibu.

The show of support and acceptability was massive in the fifty one wards of Edo Central, as indigenes filled the venues of the campaign rallies.

Edo South Senatorial District, where Governor Obaseki hails from was not left out.

The joy was palpable, as the campaign council embarked on its tour of the seventy seven wards that make up the District.

The campaign team of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was warmly received by traders and customers as the train passed through Oka Market to the different wards of Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.

The PDP ward rounds culminated at Oredo, the home base of Obaseki.

At the ever busy Foresty Road, enroute Emokpae Primary School, supporters made up of traders, residents and passersby sandwiched the train to show their readiness to vote for the PDP’s standard bearer at the September 19 poll.

The Governor attributes the success of the five week grassroots campaign to God.

He acknowledged that it is unusual for political office seekers to visit every ward in the state to have firsthand information about the peculiar challenges they face.
