PDP, Governors mourn former National Chairman, Vincent Ogbulafor

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has expressed shock over the demise of one of its founding members and former National Chairman, National Secretary and Minister of State for Special Duties, Vincent Ogbulafor.

The party described late Ogbulafor as a patriotic leader, a detribalised and quintessential democrat who dedicated his skills and resources in selfless service towards the unity and development of the country.

In a statement signed by PDP National Publicity, Secretary Debo Ologunagba, said the former National Chairman was pivotal to the effective management, development and implementation of the party’s policy guidelines which led to key accomplishments of successive administration of the party.

The PDP also commiserate with family of the late Ogbulafor, the Government and people of Abia State for what it say is an irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, Abia Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has noted with deep regret that Ogbulafor was part of those he inaugurated on Friday as members of the PDP State Advisory Campaign Council to provide guidance to the party as it gets ready for campaigns for the 2023 elections.

The Governor takes solace and finds comfort in the exemplary life of service lived by him and urged his immediate family to be strong and keep flying at full mast, the flag of excellence hoisted by their father

And former President of the Senate, David Mark has described the demise of the former PDP National Chairman, Vincent Ogbulafor as a huge loss to the party and the nation at large.

In a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Paul Mumeh, the former Chairman of the National Assembly noted that the deceased was a fine gentleman who was passionate and committed to the growth and sustenance of democracy in the country.

“As a Minister of the Federal Republic, Ogbulafor demonstrated unwavering commitment to the ideals of nationhood. As National Secretary, National Chairman and a prominent member of the PDP Board of Trustees (BOT), he demonstrated uncommon loyalty to the party and the Nigerian state”, he stated .

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has also sent a message of condolence to his Abia State counterpart, Okezie Ikpeazu over the death of the former PDP National Chairman, Vincent Ogbulafor.

In his condolence message made public by his Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur the Governor lamented the demise of Ogbulafor at this time when his wealth of experience in party administration would have been handy to resolve intractable crises within the party.

Ortom pointed out that Ogbulafor was a true party man who was fair and firm to all. “The PDP and the political class have lost a colourful and fine gentleman. We’ll miss his deep political craftsmanship,” the Governor noted.

Governor Ortom recalled his days in the PDP National Executive Council, under late Ogbulafor as Bational Chairman, saying, “when I was the National Auditor of the party under him, Ogbulafor exemplified humility and dedication to duty with the way he led the PDP. He was such a leader per excellence.”

And the condolence message from Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, commiserated with the Government and people of Abia State over the death of the former PDP National Chairman, Vincent Ogbulafor.

He noted that Ogbulafor, who was also a former National Secretary of the PDP, was one of the towering and outstanding figures in the country’s political spectrum.

According to him, he will be remembered for his noteworthy contributions to the PDP and the country’s democracy.
