Chairman of Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed on Wednesday hosted a strategic National caucus meeting at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.
The meeting was ahead of the crucial National Executive Committee, NEC meeting of the party scheduled for thursday. Present at the closed-door meeting are five serving PDP governors, including Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State and Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal.
Other key National figures of the party are PDP’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagun, National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu and several Members of the party’s Board of Trustees.
It was gathered that the session is aimed at building consensus among Party leaders and Members ahead of the NEC meeting.

The 101 National Executive Committee, NEC meeting is expected to ratify critical decisions earlier taken by the National Working Committee, NWC. including zoning of key positions, preparations and direction for the forthcoming national elective convention.
The caucus meeting is seen as part of ongoing efforts to foster unity within the party and strengthen its leadership structure ahead of the upcoming 2027 General Elections.
