PDP National Convention: High Chief Raymond Dokpesi distances self from chairmanship contest

Ahead of the national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, set for October 2021, a chieftain of the party, Raymond Dokpesi has dismissed reports linking him to the chairmanship position

In a press release he personally signed, Dokpesi stated that he has no interest in contesting for the position of National Chairman of the PDP and will not risk a dent in his integrity, having earlier made his stance clear

“I wish to categorically state that I have no interest whatsoever in the position of National Chairman of the PDP or any other national office in the party.”

He, however, stated that he remains a committed party man while calling on members of the public to disregard the report linking him to the chairmanship position, describing it as untrue.

The statement read: ” My attention has been drawn to various media reports linking me to having an interest in contesting for the position of National Chairman of the People Democratic Party, PDP, scheduled to hold in October 2021.

“The reports have been widely published in a number of national dailies and circulated in both online and hard copy editions.

“I wish to categorically state that I have no interest whatsoever in the position of National Chairman of the PDP or any other national office in the party.

“While remaining a committed party man, I cannot and will not risk a dent in my integrity, having earlier made my stance clear.

“Members of the public are advised to disregard the reports as untrue.”
