The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), under the leadership of the Turaki group, has called on the APC-led administration to shift attention from political calculations to tackling Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.
This follows fresh attacks in Plateau and Kaduna States where scores of lives were lost, further heightening concerns over the nation’s safety.
Speaking after the party’s National Working Committee meeting, National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, warned that security challenges are deepening while political actors remain preoccupied with the 2027 elections.
Despite its internal leadership crisis, the PDP insists governance must take priority over politics.
The party also revealed that over 4.2 million Nigerians have registered in its ongoing digital membership drive, which it says reflects growing grassroots support.
On reconciliation, the Turaki-led faction maintained it remains open to dialogue but will not align with or become subordinate to the ruling APC.
