The People’s Democratic Party, PDP says the outcome of the just concluded bye elections in some states across the country cannot be an assessment of the party’s performance in future elections.
The National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Debo Olugunagba who said this at a briefing in Abuja condemned what he called the electoral fraud, manipulation, vote rigging and other irregularities that marred the exercise.
Ologunagba says the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC needs to improve on the electoral process to curb voter apathy and ensure the emergence of credible winners.
On the party’s upcoming National Elective Convention, Ologunagba insists that there will be no parallel congresses, contrary to comments by Federal Capital Territor Minister, Nyesom Wike who was quoted as saying another congress will hold in Abuja.
Ologunagba says the only Congress agreed upon and scheduled by its 101 national executive committee, NEC will be the one to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State on the 15th and 16th of November 2025.
