The Peoples Democratic Party has won 15 out of the 17 local government areas elections held on October 9th, 2024.
The results of Pankshin and Langtang north are still being awaited.
However, the PDP didn’t get a clean sweep in the councilorship as other parties like the APC, NNPP, and YPP had victories in some wards.
Declaring the results at its headquarters Chairman of PLASIEC Plangji Chishak said the election was peaceful and keenly contested.
The 15 elected council executives after receiving their certificates proceeded for their swearing-in. The Plateau state governor Caleb Mutfwang called on them to provide their people with good governance.
It is hoped that with the local government autonomy, people at the grassroots will begin to enjoy the true dividend of democracy.
