The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has won the Bakura State Constituency Bye-election in Zamfara State.
The Chief Returning Officer for the supplementary election, Professor Tanko Yahaya of the Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto who declared the result said the candidate of the PDP, Ibrahim Tukur, polled 23, 874 to defeat his close rival Bello Dankande of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who scored 16, 546.

Though the APC had a day to the supplementary election, announced its withdrawal from the contest.
