The Benue State government has again warned the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to address the complaints of the G5 governors, otherwise, the party’s chances of reclaiming power at the centre will be shaky.

Ortom spoke during the inauguration of the PDP State Campaign Council and Campaign Management Committee in Makurdi, the state capital.

The Oath of Office and Allegiance was administered on the State Campaign Council and the Campaign Management Committee in the state.

The inauguration officially kick starts the process of ensuring its candidates emerge victorious in the forthcoming general elections.

The leader of the party in the state who heads the campaigns remains optimistic that despite the party’s internal wrangling at the centre, it still has great potential.

Ortom used the opportunity to speak on his party’s chances, in comparison with the opposition at the state level, who they have taken to court.

He announced a donation by his friend and River’s State counterpart to the campaign council.

Although there seems to be no visible internal crisis at the state level, the same cannot be said at the national level, raising some doubts as to whether or not the country’s main opposition party will have a successful outing in next year’s general elections.
