Peace returns to Tidibale community in Sokoto as Military Intensifies Operation

The Nigerian military has launched operations in Tidibale and other troubled communities in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State, raising hopes for a full return to normalcy.

The General Officer Commanding, 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Ibikunle Ajosse, disclosed this while addressing recent security concerns in the area.His remarks followed assurances by Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu, who clarified the true situation surrounding reports of displacement in Tidibale.

Both the General Officer Commanding, 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, and the Sokoto State Governor spoke to journalists on the sidelines of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.

Governor Aliyu denied reports that residents fled their homes due to bandit attacks. He explained that the temporary relocation was a precautionary measure taken by the Isa Local Government authorities following intelligence reports of a possible attack.

The General Officer Commanding, 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Ibikunle Ajosse, reassured residents of intensified military operations aimed at restoring normalcy in Tidibale and other troubled communities in Isa Local Government Area.

Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State shares borders with Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Goronyo and Sabon Birni Local Government Areas of Sokoto State to the west and north respectively, and the Republic of Niger to the east.
