The petroleum and natural gas senior staff association of Nigeria PENGASSAN has decried the state of the Nigerian electricity grid system describing the twelve grid collapses in the year 2024 as unfortunate.
President of the association, Festus Osifo while calling for reforms to drive development in the power sector in the year 2025 at a national executive Council meeting in lagos called on government to ensure power stability in the new year.
While applauding current efforts to get all refineries working again in Nigeria, Osifo noted that proactive steps must be taken to expand production capacity of the nation’s crude oil production with a view to increasing revenue to address key economic challenges currently facing Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the petroleum and natural gas senior staff members have described Nigeria’s 2025 budget proposal currently before the national assembly as abysmal noting that the budget of 49 trillion naira translating to roughly 30billion U.S dollars is too small to address the challenges currently facing a country of over 230 million population.
