In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the Union, Actor Zal, the senior citizens noted that pensioners are one of the most vulnerable people in the country but they are being marginalised at this time.
NUP therefore appealed to the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 to liase with the Union on how to get the palliative distribution to those in actual need across the nooks and crannies of the country.
The pensioners body noted that its members are spread across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, as well as in all the 774 local government areas therefore it will ensure the distribution of the palliatives to the grassroots with limited hitches.
