Pensioners in southwest Nigeria, are threatening to sue the Six State Governors in the geopolitical zone, for reneging on their promise to increase the consequential adjustment allowance to retirees in their respective states.
The Senior Citizens, while Speaking to newsmen at the end of their Bi-monthly meeting in Ado-Ekiti, gave the Governors till the end of October 2021 to implement their promise, or face legal action.

NUP Zonal Public Relations Officer, Olusegun Abatan who spoke on behalf of other retirees, regretted the default in the payment of gratuities and pensions to the retirees.
Abatan, who is also the NUP Secretary in Oyo State, said that governors in the zone, have been hard on members.
The NUP spokesperson, also called on the southwest Governors, to be proactive and make life meaningful for all the senior citizens.
