Residents and motorists in the city of port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital, are lamenting over scarcity of premium motor spirit (PMS).
They want the federal government to wake up to its responsibilities and address the current challenges before it degenerates.
The fuel scarcity which became a reality in Port Harcourt on Wednesday after weeks of shortage and adulterated PMS in the country, has gradually given way to a thriving black market.
The rivers state chairman of petroleum product retail outlet owners association of Nigeria PETROAN, Francis Dimkpa, says private depot owners are selling PMS to retail outlets far above the government approved price.

Though the NNPC has assured that enough PMS for distribution will be available and warned against panick buying, the reality on ground suggests that the products were not available.
