Motorists and those who use petrol for power generation in Benin City have decried the lingering fuel scarcity being witnessed in Edo State and other parts of the country.
The motorists say the situation which has lingered for more than two weeks was not only causing them hardships in staying in long queues but also financially draining.

Residents seem to be confused about the present situation, from the non-availability of the product at most filling stations to the high cost of purchasing petrol at the few stations dispensing it.
The product now sells for as high as N270 per litre and it may also cause a further rise in the cost of other essential commodities.
There is however the expectation of Nigerians for government to find a lasting solution to the recurring fuel scarcity in the country.
