As the federal government commences the gradual implementation of the petroleum industry Act PIA 2021, some residents of host communities in Central Delta are worried over its full implementation and actualization as it relates to their well-being.
Since the petroleum industry Act, PIA was signed into law in 2021 by former president Muhammadu Buhari, the host communities in the Niger Delta region have been awaiting its implementation.
But with the recent assurances from the federal government that it has begun the gradual implementation processes, some community representatives in Delta Central have expressed concerns over its full implementation.
