The troops of Operation Sahel Sanity have neutralised three bandits, arrested three of their informants, rescued nine abducted victims, and destroyed their camp, after a foiled attack at the Batsari Area Council of Katsina State.
In a statement signed by the Acting Director Defence Media Operations, Brigadier General Bernard Onyeuko, and obtained by AIT, the operation was part of the Nigerian Army’s quest of ensuring that the Northwest and parts of Katsina State, in particular, are rid of banditry and other criminal elements.
He said that the feats were achieved within five days at different locations in the state.

While restating the Army’s commitment at ensuring that all the enemies of the state are crushed, the spokesman urged the troops not to relent in their efforts, but remain focused while calling on the locals to continue giving timely and accurate information to the troops.

He also stated that all the rescued victims have reunited with their families while clearance operations are ongoing in different areas to eliminate other threats and to bring about a secured state and region.
