Following President Bola Tinubu’s directive that perpetrators of the Christmas Eve Massacre in Plateau State be arrested, the Police in Plateau State have arrested 8 suspects who allegedly perpetrated the killings of innocent villagers in some rural communities of the state during the Christmas Eve Massacre.
The gunmen had on December 24, 2023, attacked 25 communities in three local government areas of Plateau State, killing over 150 people and razing about 221 houses.
The attacks, which affected Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu LGAs, led to the displacement of over 19,000 Villagers within the attacked communities.
Spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the development to Newsmen on Friday in Jos but did disclose the identity of those arrested.

President Bola Tinubu had earlier condemned the Plateau Christmas Eve Massacre in Plateau, describing it as heinous.
Reacting to the incident, President Tinubu ordered security agencies to arrest the perpetrators of the act.
Several stakeholders including Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Security chiefs and the Inspector General of Police have visited displaced victims of the attack in the Bokkos Local government council of the state .
In the wake of the development, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, had deployed officers to the affected communities, assuring people of the state of his determination to fish out perpetrators of the heinous act.
