The Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), says it has commenced preparations for the conduct of local government elections.
Chairman of the commission Planji Cishak, made this know in Jos while speaking to Journalist after the Supreme Court, reserved judgement in a suit filed by the federal government against the governors of the 36 states to enforce Local Government Autonomy.
As the federal government moves to enforce autonomy of local government administration in Nigeria, Plateau appears to be running In the same direction as it has already commenced immediate actions toward the conduct of local Government Elections in the state as explained by the chairman of the state Electoral empire Plangji Cishak.
Chishak, added, that they are dedicated to nurturing democratic leadership structures at the local level, rewriting the narrative of local government elections in the state and Nigeria through transparency, fairness, professionalism, and inclusivity.
The Chairman of the Plateau Electoral empire also called on citizens to join the commission on the journey to rebuild, retool, and reorganise the institution above individuals and narrow interests, for the growth of democratic ideals in Plateau and positively impact democracy in Nigeria.
