Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has signed an Executive Order to control illegal buildings and vehicular traffic in the state. The order also includes ban on the movement on stray animals within Jos, the state capital.
Plateau State has in recent times experienced an influx of more people leading to increase in vehicular traffic and haphazard construction of buildings, which result in congestion and safety hazards.
This formed the basis of the Executive Order by the State Government in order to address the challenges and ensure sustainable development according to the General Manager of the Jos Metropolitan Development Board, JAMB.
The government says the enforcement of the Executive Order will improve the quality of life for all residents of the state and create a safe and organised urban environment.
