In a move to boost adolescent girl enrollment in education, the Plateau State government will build 55 secondary schools throughout the state.

The State Commissioner for Education, Kachallom Gang, announced this initiative during the preliminary stage for the Adolescents Girl Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) interstate games 2025 held in Jos.

According to the Commissioner, the government’s comprehensive strategy to ensure greater access to and retention in school for adolescent girls in Plateau State include not only the construction of new facilities but also the renovation of existing schools spanning all 17 local government areas.

Speaking at the awards ceremony for the AGILE games 2025 participants, the Commissioner noted that the government encourages a well-rounded education, emphasizing that students are also encouraged to engage in activities beyond academics, such as sports.

Participants expressed t
appreciation to the Plateau State government for providing the opportunity, noting its role in exposing them to new possibilities and experiences.

The conclusion of the 2025 AGILE games will be the finals held in Abuja, where Plateau State will join other states participating in the event.
