The Plateau State government says it is not happy with the level of absenteeism and dereliction of duty, among other negatives that have been identified as factors affecting service delivery by the state’s civil servants.

Deputy Governor Josephine Piyo said this when she represented Governor Caleb Muftwang at the swearing-in of the newly constituted Plateau State Civil Service Commission. She said the state government is set to turn things around for the better.

Piyo described the civil service as the engine room of any government, highlighting the need for the chairman and members of the commission to introduce innovations that will uplift the standard of the civil service in the state.

Responding on behalf of the members of the commission, Chairman Paul Wai promised to effect meaningful changes within the civil service.

The newly constituted Plateau State Commission is made up of five members with considerable numbers of years of civil service experience.
