Plateau Impeachment crisis: APC calls for calm, maintenance of status quo

The Leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has expressed deep concern over the Crisis rocking the Party in three local Government areas of the State.

The Party equally called for calm and return to status quo over Political Crisis in Mangu, Jos North and Langtang North Local Governments areas.

The Party’s position was disclosed on Saturday in Jos, in a statement signed by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Sylvanus Namang

According to Namang, the development within the three Council areas bothered on misunderstanding between the Legislative and Executive Arms of the third tier of government where the Legislative Arms have either impeached, suspended or threatened to impeach the Chairmen or their Deputies.

He said, the APC is a party built on a solid foundation of law and order and has a very strong dispute resolution mechanism which were not deployed or exhausted in these cases.

The Plateau State chapter of the APC through It’s spokesman also, assured the feuding parties and the public that it would dig into the root causes of the disquiet in the affected local governments and any infraction discovered would not go without appropriate sanction.

Recall, that the crisis rocking the APC in Plateau State spread across some council areas in the State which led to the impeachment and Suspension of some Council Chairmen last thursday.
