Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang, has called on the people of the State to unite and rise against Crisis Merchants in order to end the circle of violence and restore lasting peace in the state.
He made the call, when he carried out an assessment of the situation in communities recently affected by the security breach in Mangu Local Government area where several lives and property were destroyed.
Despite the presence of security operatives and the imposition of a 24-hour curfew by the Government, killings and destruction of properties still continued in Mangu.
Worried by the continuous attacks and his determination to ensure the crisis is nipped in the bud, Governor Mutfwang took an on the spot assessment of the area accompanied by heads of security agencies and top government functionaries where he condoled with the Mangu Paramount Ruler, describing the continuous killings as needless.
The governor charged the people on the need for dialogue and to unite against Crisis Merchants assuring them that the government will do all it can to ensure that external aggression is brought under check.
In his response, the Mishkaham Mwaghavul Da John Hirse Commended the Governor and appealed for help in order for the Victims who were sacked from their villages to return home.
Governor Mutfwang also held a meeting with some Stakeholders in Bokkos council area and later visited internally displaced persons who survived the recent attacks in the area, giving them hope that he is doing everything possible for them to return to their original homes.
