Plateau Insecurity : Two Killed, as Gunmen attack IDP Community

Gunmen suspected to be Terrorist on Wednesday attacked a community of Internally Displaced Persons at Rantis village in Riyom local Government area of Plateau State where they were rebuilding their destroyed homes, killing two persons.

An eye witness, Gyang Bulus who spoke to ait.live revealed that the gunmen are Fulani Militias who came on motorcycles and shot sporadically at the IDPs at about 4:40pm when the IDPs have completed work for the day and were about leaving the site.

As a result of the incident, two persons, Dalyop Boyi and Gyang Jugu, were killed while three persons, Pastor Samson Boyi, Dahwol Jam and Pam Boyi sustained gunshot injuries and rushed to the hospital.

ait.live also gathered, that a Volkswagon Vento Car belonging to one of the deceased, Dalyop Boyi was burnt down by the attackers.

When contacted, the Plateau State Police Command through it’s Spokesperson ASP Gabriel Ubah said the command had deployed a team of detectives to the community while the state commissioner of Police has ordered that the attack be investigated.
