As the much anticipated October 9th Local Government Election in Plateau State draws near, Key players have reiterated the need for violent free elections in the state ahead of polls.
The key payers made their positions known during a sensitization forum put together by the state government through the office of the
Special adviser on inter-party affairs.
The aim of the sensitization for Political parties and their local government chairmanship candidates is to promote a peaceful and credible local government election in the state.
The special adviser on inter-party affairs John Akans said Governor Mutfwang wants to ensure an exercise devoid of rancour which will allow the people’s will to prevail.

Some resource persons also talked on the importance of a violence-free election as the state must learn from previous experience
Other participants at the sensitization forum, commended the organizers of the event, saying it has further prepared them ahead of the election.
Those who attended the programme, include Party Chairmen and Candidates of all the 11 Political Parties expected to participate in the election and other stakeholders.
