The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, on Thursday ordered massive deployment of Police personnel to all the polling units and other strategic areas to provide tight security before, during and after the forthcoming Local Government Elections across the seventeen (17) Local government areas of the State.
In a statement signed by the Command’s spokesman ASP Gabriel Ubah, says “It has also come to the notice of the Command that certain individuals and groups have hatched plans to disrupt peace in the State especially during this period of election”.

While assuring residents of tight security before, during and after the election, the Command urged citizens to report all suspicious movements, emergency or distress to the nearest police formation or emergency call lines.
Meanwhile, Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong is to address citizens of Plateau State on the forthcoming Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, 9th October 2021.
A statement signed by Makut Simon Macham, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, reads that ” Governor Lalong will address the people in a broadcast today Thursday October 7, 2021 by 6:30pm”.
