Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Pegana Constituency of the Plateau State House of Assembly ahead of the 2023 election Mathew Akawu is dead.
Akawu was reported to have died in the earlier hours of Friday shortly after he was rushed to the hospital on Thursday due to complaints of chest pain he had earlier made.
The Plateau State Publicity Secretary of the PDP John Akans while confirming the development on Friday said the late Mathew Akawu was hale and hearty before the incident.
A source within the family of the late PDP state Assembly Candidate who does not want his name mentioned told ait.live that they suspected a heart attack shortly after he returned from an all-night new year Program held on Wednesday night at his constituency.
As at the time of filling in this report, the leadership of the state PDP was yet to issue an official statement on Matter.
