Recalled that the Plateau Chapter of the PDP, on Aug. 29, 2020 first elected Chris Hassan as chairman of the Party in the State with other executive members, but that elections ran into troubled waters following litigation, which forced the national secretariat of the PDP, to cancel the congress and constituted a Caretaker Committee headed by Sen. Tunde Ogbeha to oversee the affairs of the party in the state for a period not exceeding 90 days, from June 10.

Shortly after the declaration, the newly elected executives were sworn-in, while Chris Hassan, commended the Ogbeha led Caretaker committee, for solving the problem and promised to commence reconciliation process immediately.

Bitrus Kaze, a former member of the house of representatives who lost the election, embraced Hassan and also pledged his loyalty to the party.

Before the congress, the lingering crisis almost tore the Party apart for 2 years.
