The Plateau State Police Command has arrested a suspected fake news peddler and twenty-one members of a notorious cult group known as “Sara-Suka,” accused of terrorising residents within the Jos-Bukuru metropolis.
The Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah, says the arrests followed intensified security operations aimed at restoring order and strengthening public safety across the state.
Police recall that earlier this month, a viral TikTok video circulated widely on social media, containing inciting comments capable of triggering unrest. Investigations led to the arrest of the alleged originator, 16-year-old Mohammed Shuaibu Adam, alongside his accomplice, 19-year-old Auwal Ilyas Abdullahi, both residents of Rikkos in Jos.
According to the Command, the suspects confessed to their roles during interrogation and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
