Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Adeshina, has confirmed the arrest of 22 suspects in connection with the recent mob attack on a passenger bus in Mangun, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. He announced the arrests during an on-the-spot assessment of the area with the State Governor.

The Police Commissioner Emmanuel Adeshina stated that the bus occupants were en route to Quan Pan Local Government for a wedding when they missed their way. They were then intercepted by a mob who mistook them for gunmen.

After visiting survivors at the Mangu General Hospital and assessing the situation, Governor Caleb Mutfwang condemned the mob’s actions and appealed for calm among residents.

The Governor also visited Tangur and Mushere in Bokkos Local Government Area, which recently suffered attacks by Fulani Herdsmen .

The traditional ruler of Mushere appealed for improved road network in the area. He highlighted that better roads would enable security agents respond more quickly to attacks.

Governor Mutfwang calls for unity among the people of Plateau State, emphasizing that it’s crucial for overcoming current challenges.
