Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Plateau South senatorial bye-election, Professor Nora Daddut, has been declared the winner.
According to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Daddut polled a total of 83,15104 votes to defeat her closest rival George Daika, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP who secured 70,838 votes. Daika is a one-time Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly and a former member of the House of Representatives.
Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has congratulated Professor Nora Daddut for making history as the first female Senator to be elected in Plateau State.

With the successful conduct of the Plateau South Senatorial by-election, the people of the zone will now have a voice in the Red Chamber after spending 10 months without a representative.
