The Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Abok Ayuba has been impeached.
Abok was impeached on Thursday morning after a vote of no confidence was passed on him by some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the assembly.
The lawmakers also elected the member Representing Pengana Constituency, Yakubu Sanpartys as the new Speaker.
Meanwhile, the 9 members of the leading opposition party, the PDP in the state while reacting to the development through the minority leader, Peter Gyenden and another member representing Jos South, Fom Gwattson, said Ayuba Abok remains the speaker of the Plateau State 9th Assembly.

They said what took place by the 8 APC members was not impeachment but a coup, because they did not form a quorum.
