The Plateau state Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has warned mischief makers to stop manipulating the traditional institution in the state.
The Governor gave this warning during the coronation of the sixth Ngolong Ngas in Pankshin local government.
The ancient city of Pankshin has come alive, bringing friends and well-wishers of the Ngas nation from far and wide to join in this celebration.
After nine years since the death of Nde Joshua Dimlong, the then-Ngolong Ngas, the Ngas people at home and in the diaspora now have a king.
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, while congratulating the new ruler, said his administration will continue to give priority to the preservation of traditional institutions in the state.
Welcoming the Ngolong Ngas to their fold, the chairman of the Plateau traditional council and the Bom Gwom Jos, da Jacob Buba, advised politicians to stop undue interference in the affairs of traditional institutions.
In his acceptance speech, the Sixth Ngolong Ngas Nde Jika Golit pledged to serve his people with the fear of God and foster a harmonious relationship with other tribes in the state and country at large.
Nde Jika Golit, a retired police officer who, until his elevation as the Ngolong Ngas, accends to the throne of his ancestors in a period when there is dire need for cultural preservation and Unity among the People, the Ngas Nation will rely on his wealth of experience for leadership and direction.
