The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos has nullified the Election of 5th Time Rep. Member Beni Lar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Declared Vincent Bulus of the All Progressives Congress APC as Winner of the Langtang North and South Federal Constituency in the February 25, 2023 General Election.

Vincent Bulus had Challenged the Victory of Beni Lar, on two Grounds, Invalid nomination and disobedience to the Court Order.

While delivering the judgment on Tuesday, Justice Mohammed Tukur, upheld the petitioners’ claims, citing numerous extant laws that proved the respondents being the PDP were in defiance of court orders compelling the party to conduct ward, local government, and state congresses.

The Tribunal Insists that all votes cast for the second respondent Beni Lar,during the February 25, 2023, Genera Election are wasted votes.

The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Jos earlier quashed the election of a two-term member of the House of representatives in the state, Dachung Bagos.

Bagos who represents Jos South/Jos East Federal constituency was also elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party during the February 25 National Assembly poll.

In nullifying Bagos’s election, the tribunal declared the Labour Party candidate, Ajang Alfred as the rightful winner of the poll and ruled that the PDP candidate was not validly nominated by his party to contest the poll.
