Platform Petroleum Limited has officially commissioned the O.B. Lulu-Briggs ICT Centre for Digital Innovations in Obonoma, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The landmark project, commissioned on April 8, 2026, by His Eminence, Bishop John Onaiyekan, represents a major investment in digital infrastructure, education, and youth empowerment across the Niger Delta.

Donated as part of Platform Petroleum’s corporate social responsibility initiative, the centre is equipped with over 280 networked computers and is positioned as a leading hub for Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and digital learning. It will serve residents across Akuku-Toru, Asari-Toru, and Degema Local Government Areas, significantly reducing the need for travel to urban centres such as Port Harcourt.

The initiative was spearheaded by the Chairman of Platform Petroleum, High Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, in honour of his father, High Chief O.B Lulu-Briggs, whose legacy of community development and progress continues to inspire transformative interventions.
The commissioning ceremony drew a distinguished audience, including Mr. Ojunekwu Augustine Avuru — Vice Chairman, Platform Petroleum Limited, Mr. John Anim — Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer, senior executives of the company, and key stakeholders across sectors.

Religious leaders were prominently represented, led by His Eminence, Bishop John Onaiyekan, reflecting the significance of the project not only as an infrastructure milestone but also as a moral and social investment in the future of the people.

Captains of industry, community leaders, traditional rulers, youth representatives, and other dignitaries were also present to witness the historic occasion.
Speaking at the event, High Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs emphasized the importance of equipping young people with future-ready skills, particularly in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and technology-driven enterprise.
