Assistant Inspector General of Police Yahaya Abubakar says the force will not be dragged in the mud due to the misconduct of officers on election duty, saying erring officers are on their own.

The AIG says the activities of the police are geared towards ensuring the transparency and integrity of the general elections and any officer found wanting would be shown the exit door.

The AIG who was deployed to Zone 12 covering Bauchi and Gombe states for the election says he came to Gombe to educate police officers on the ethics of election security.
