Police on election duty for the Adamawa Governorship Supplementary Poll have apprehended six young men suspected to be hackers of BVAS during the exercise in the Bolki Ward of Numan in Adamawa State.

The Six men were arrested while trying to hack into the BVAs machines, to criminally tamper with election results.

Eyewitnesses said as the hackers went about masterminding their unpatriotic acts, observers sighted them and quickly reported to the police who were keeping vigilance at the election unit.

Efforts to speak with the alleged criminals proved abortive, as the only thing one of them could say was that they do not know why they are being arrested.

However, their captors say, they named the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa-Ari, as the brain behind their actions at the time of their arrest.

The police could not be available for comment at the time of this report, as according to them, only higher authorities of the force could talk to journalists.

The arrested, however, have been driven 150 kilometres away from their crime scene to the Police Headquarters in Yola, for further investigations.
