The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the attack on its headquarters in Adamawa State by personnel of the Nigerian Army Tuesday night.
The police also confirmed that an inspector, Jacob Daniel, was killed in the brutal attack on its headquarters.
It was a night attack on the Adamawa State Police Headquarters by personnel of the Nigerian Army, causing serious panic and tension in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
Sources who spoke on anonymity said, the conflict started Monday night at a police checkpoint along Target junction in the Yola North Area of the state, where the police on duty, ordered an approaching Keke NAPEP rider to stop for search, but the order met resistance by military personnel who were also on board the Keke, leading to a brutal conflict, on account of which a soldier was shot by the police.

Eyewitnesses further confirmed the incident.
Provoked by the ugly incident, military personnel mobilized and launched what could be termed a reprisal attack on the police headquarters, leading to the death of a police inspector.
Meanwhile, as the wounded soldier receives treatment at a health facility in Yola, the Police Commissioner for Adamawa State, CP Afolabi Babalola, had in a press statement, condemned the conflict, and ordered an immediate investigation into the matter, to ensure peace.
