A Joint force of Nigerian troops has repelled an attack of the Islamic State West African Province, (ISWAP) terrorists on a Police outpost at Jakana, Kaga Local Government in Borno State.
A counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region, Zagaza Makama, reports that the attack on the police station began at about 2:30 am, when the terrorists mounted their General Purpose Machine Guns, GPMG, and began shooting sporadically at the police.

Sources said that the personnel stationed at the station in collaboration with troops deployed to protect the community, swiftly responded, resulting in a heavy gun battle which lasted for about 30 minutes.
Troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade Fighting Patrol, were dispatched to the scene and assisted the police in the fierce repulsion, forcing the terrorists to flee.
The source added that no casualty was recorded in the attack.
